Because Romano's vehicle struck an electrical meter, Rhode Island Energy shut off power to the home, causing the residents to be temporarily displaced.

Police said there was no evidence suggesting speed or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The Rhode Island State Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death and if any medical or physical factors contributed to the crash.
