Cranston Man Free on Recognizance for June Break-Ins Arrested for Three More
Police said the 20-year-old was pawning items he stole from houses in the Auburn section of the city just weeks after a similar arrest.

In June, Cranston police arrested Kyle Calderara, 20, for two break-ins he allegedly committed near his house at 86 Waterman Ave.
After his arraignment in Third Division District Court, he was released on personal recognizance.
Cranston Police Capt. Sean Carmody said that within weeks of his release, police saw a sudden spike in breaking and entering cases with a similar modus operandi in the Auburn neighborhood in Cranstonโs east side.

Det. Joseph Hopkins got to work and soon learned that Calderara was โactively pawning jewelry, watches and other stolen goods at local pawn shops,โ Carmody said.
Police began to conduct surveillance and eventually caught Calderara in the targeted area, Carmody said. He was carrying a backpack filled with stolen goods and admitted that he had broken into houses on Crothers and Mauran Streets and a house on Speck Avenue.

Police also reported finding heroin in his possession.
Calderara is now facing three more counts of breaking and entering, along with a charge of receiving stolen goods and narcotics possession.
He is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston as a bail violator and is due to appear inย District Court on Aug. 6 for a review hearing and in Superior Court on Sept. 25 for a prearraignment disposition conference for the new charges.
For the charges filed in June, he is due to appear for a status hearing on Aug. 6 and his Superior Court prearraignment disposition conference is scheduled for Aug. 21.
