Cranston Man Secures Place on Nice List by Giving Mom his Lottery Winnings

Jason Piccola of Cranston won $10,000 playing a "Santa Cash" instant ticket game and he plans on giving most of it to his mom.

Santa has his naughty and nice lists, but more importantly, so does mom.

And for Jason Piccola of Cranston, it’s a safe bet to say he’s going to be on his mom’s nice list this Christmas.

Piccola won $10,000 playing the “Santa Cash” instant ticket game from the Rhode Island Lottery and said he plans on giving most of his winnings to his mother “as a payback for everything she has done for [me,]” the lottery commission said in a release.

Piccola bought his winning ticket from Quick Mart at 164 Park Ave. in Cranston.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Wild Money jackpot was hit on Saturday for $48,789. Two winning tickets were sold, giving each winner half of the pot. One ticket was sold at Ciabo Meat Supermarket on Manton Avenue in Providence and the other was sold at the Hess at 305 Phenix Ave. in Cranston. Both are still uncliamed.

Finally, a $10,000 winner from Saturday’s PowerBall drawing remains unclaimed. The ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms at 1291 Warwick Ave. in Warwick.

Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall jackpot is $100 million.
