Cranston Police Looking To Identify Dollar General Thief

Police say the man pepper-sprayed an employee before running away.

CRANSTON, R.I. -- Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect accused of stealing from the Dollar General on Broad Street and pepper-spraying an employee.

Police say the theft happened on February 23 around 8 p.m., when a man entered the store, filled up a clear plastic bag with items, and left.

The man then pepper-sprayed an 18-year-old employee who tried to stop him, and ran away.
