Cranston Teen OK After Being Hit by Car in Eight Vehicle Pileup

The teen was brought to the hospital as a precaution.

A local teenager is OK after being hit by a sliding car in an eight-car pileup in Cranston Thursday.

Police said the teenager, identified as Taylor Pernini, was standing on the side of the road on Walnut Grove Avenue near Atwood Avenue when a car struck another car that had stopped for an earlier accident.

The chain reaction of crashes caused the car nearest to Pernini to roll forward. The force of the impact catapulted her into the snow on the side of the road.
