Cranston Western Little Leaguers to be Feted at Cranston Stadium

Cranston is proud of the boys of the Cranston Western Little League, who put in a good showing at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn., this past week.

Though they didn’t take home the world championship, the team is without a doubt still the best in New England. They are still the New England Regional champions, after all.

After a long trip home, the boys are due to appear in Cranston Stadium tonight at around 4:30 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend to say hello to the boys.

Along with residents ready to give cheer, there will be musicians from the local high schools.

This “will just be a welcome back gathering,” said Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung. “The city is planning on doing a more formal recognition ceremony later at a location to be determined. ”

Cranston Stadium is located at 20 Jordan Avenue.
