D&M Celebrates New Libera Street Digs with Ribbon Cutting

celebrated the opening of its new facility on Libera Street this morning with a ribbon cutting on the front steps of their clean and modern building.

Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung led the ceremony highlighted by a gold ribbon that was snipped by the city's pair of large gold scissors.

Co-owner Michael Notarianni said the new location is "a lot bigger" and features 19 bays.

"It's a lot better than the other location," Notarianni said. "It's not congested like the corner we were on. All the customers love the new place."

D&M Tyre has been in business for 38 or 39 years, Notarianni said. The new location includes a waiting area decked out with computers for customers to surf the Internet or catch up on their e-mail while they wait. It also has a small play area for children.

The shop was a hive of activity on Thursday morning as cars of all types were being repaired. Some had hoods open wide, others held high on hydraulic lifts.

The business isn't just about tires, as its name suggests. It's a one-stop-shop for every automotive repair need, including brakes, transmissions, drive trains, suspensions and diagnostics.

"With access to a $2 million in-house parts inventory, we are able to repair your car or truck faster than ever before, and get you back on the road sooner," the company's website boasts.

The shop was formerly located on Phenix Avenue. .
