D-STRONG FUNDRAISER
On February 28th at the Park Theatre in Cranston Funny4Funds and 94 HJY will be presenting a Fundraiser for Dorian Murray #D-STRONG.
Eight-year-old Dorian Murray, a Rhode Island boy with a rare form of cancer, recently learned that it is no longer treatable.
Faced with this fact Dorian - with his strong and wise beyond his years attitude – made this statement on social media: “Before I got to heaven, I want to be famous all over the world.” That sparked people all over the world to post pictures of themselves with #D-STRONG.
Recently, local comedy fundraising group Funny4Funds has been tasked with putting together a fundraiser for Dorian. Bill Simas from Funny4Funds explains:
“This came about because Patrick Pass [NE Patriots Alum] and his wife came to a Funny4Funds show. Patrick, his wife and Ty Law were talking about doing a fundraiser for D Strong. Patrick and I have a mutual acquaintance, and they loved what they saw at the show they attended…they made a decision to use Funny4Funds for this endeavor. Everyone agreed we were most professional and passionate business they have ever seen for comedy night
fundraisers. They wanted a company that would not only handle the entertainment, but they would also help and get involved from start to
finish. That describes Funny4Funds perfectly. We’re doing this because of one simple reason… Funny4Funds feel completely alive and at peace when we are helping people. Period. Funny4Funds was born out of our relentless passion to see people laugh and forget about their stress for a while. Laughter will
always be the best medicine.”
Local celebrities and New England Patriots alum will be in attendance - and to ensure people around the world will be able to be a part of this the entire event, PMA Industries and Blackstone Video Group will be videotaping and Live-streaming the entire event for all to be a part of.

94HJY will be there to broadcast live from 2:00PM-4:00PM, doors open at 4:00PM, where local band Tribeca will perform 4:45PM-5:15PM. The Show begins at 5:15PM with host Brad Pierce, and first acts Ace Aceto and Mike Hanley hit the stage. After a brief intermission the show continues with Mike Murray and Bill Simas of Funny4Funds, then closing with a live auction and the presentation of the big check and maybe a unique surprise!
