Drive-By Shooting In Cranston: Cops

Two vehicles were hit in the gun attack, police said.

CRANSTON, RI — Two vehicles were hit in a Cranston drive-by gun attack, police said.

Shots were fired from a vehicle near the corner of Park Avenue and Potter Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Cranston Police Department said in a media release.

Police located the vehicle of the target of the gun attack and determined "multiple rounds had been fired into the vehicle," according to the release.

"Fortunately, the occupants were not injured," the release said.

Another vehicle traveling in the area was also struck, per the release.

"The occupants of that vehicle were also unharmed," the release said.

"Investigators recovered multiple shell casings and other evidence from the scene, and surveillance video from nearby businesses and FLOCK automated license plate reader data are being reviewed as part of the investigation," according to the release.

The police asked anyone who witnessed the incident or has information, surveillance video, or dash camera footage from the area between 8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. to contact the Detective Division at 401-942-2211.
