Dunkin' Donuts Center Coronavirus Test Site Closing For Vaccines
The arena will eventually become a state-run mass-vaccination site.

PROVIDENCE, RI โThe coronavirus test site at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence is closing Friday, the Rhode Island Department of Health announced. The arena will become one of several planned state-run vaccination sites.
The Dunk was a rapid test site for asymptomatic Rhode Islanders. After it closes Friday, there will still be several test sites in Providence, including the West River Street Stop & Shop, the Roger Williams Park Zoo and the Convention Center.
A spokesperson for the department said the mass vaccination site is not opening for several weeks. This is in line with the vaccination strategy Director Nicole Alexander-Scott outline Thursday. Five to 10 sites are being coordinated across the state, but will not open until a larger supply of vaccine doses becomes available from the federal government, she said.
