Dunkin' Donuts Foundation Awards $13,000 Grant to Support Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick’s Healthy Habits Program

'Healthy Habits: Cooking Up a Storm' is a dynamic wellness program that demonstrates the importance of eating healthy

The Dunkin’ Donuts Foundation has awarded a $13,000 grant to support the Boys & Girls Club of Warwick’s Healthy Habits: Cooking Up a Storm initiative.

The Healthy Habits: Cooking Up a Storm initiative is a program designed to teach children the importance of eating well to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The year-long program includes interactive nutrition discussions; hands-on cooking activities; restaurant field trips; gardening lessons; and several other educational activities that highlight healthy habits.

By participating in this program, local BGCW members will be challenged to increase their nutrition knowledge and skills; gain a better understanding of portion sizes and the principles of food groups; and, ultimately, make more responsible food choices whether they’re at home, at school, or anywhere else.
