Engelbert Humperdinck is Coming Back to Cranston

The beloved singer returns to the historic Park Theatre in Cranston in October during his latest new-album tour.

Engelbert Humperdinck must have enjoyed his first-ever performance in Cranston’s historic Park Theatre in 2013.

The legendary crooner and “King of Romance” is coming back for another show on Oct. 12 on the heels of the Sept. 30 release of Engelbert Calling, a 23-track, two-disc epic that includes appearances with Elton John, Gene Simmons, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton-John, and more.

The Rhode Island performance is part of an extensive North American tour in support of the new album.

Humperdinck has one of the most successful careers in the music business, with 150 million albums sold, including 24 platinum and 63 gold records, dozens of number one hits and an enduring live act that has kept him busy, performing upwards of 140 shows a year.

Humperdinck’s sensitive lyrics and ability to sing in a three-and-a-half-octave vocal range garnered him millions of fans across the globe. After hitting it big with “Release Me (And Let Me Love Again),” Humperdinck enjoyed a run of seven consecutive number one hits including “The Last Waltz,” “After the Lovin’,” and “A Man without Love.” During the peak of his popularity, Humperdinck’s music sold 80,000 copies a day, fending off the Beatles from the top of the charts in the UK.

The new album is the artists’ first-ever duets release.

“He is one of the sweetest and nicest people I have ever worked with,” said Elton John about his experience collaborating with Humperdinck. “We had a great time singing together and he is so quick, what I call a ‘one-take singer,’ 76-years old and still sounding as good as ever!”

Engelbert Calling has been met with rave reviews since its U.K. debut earlier this year, reaching near the top of the U.K.’s Top 40 Albums Chart. Once available for pre-order in the U.S., Engelbert Calling quickly topped the Barnes and Noble Vocal Pop Music Sales Chart and the Adult Contemporary Music Chart.

After the show, the Park will host the After the Lovin’ VIP Lounge, a rare chance for fans to meet Engelbert Humperdinck. During the 30-minute meet and greet, fans will receive an autographed tour laminate, an autographed greatest hits CD, an additional VIP item, and more. Please call the Park for more information.
