Join the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. State Holiday Commission for a celebration of the life and legacy of the slain civil rights leader.
The commission will hold its 24th Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at 4 p.m. at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 475 Cranston Street, Providence. The event, which is open to the public, will include remarks by municipal, state, federal and religious leaders along with a number of musical performances.
Governor Lincoln D. Chafee, Senator Jack Reed, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, U.S. Representative James Langevin, U.S. Representative David Cicilline and Mayor Angel Taveras are scheduled to be among the event's speakers.

Featured musical performances will include the Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir and Briahiana Acevedo of the Lincoln Seventh Day Adventist Church. Refreshment will follow.
