Celebration of the French Soldiers of General Rochambeau

In honor of the French who helped win the War of Independence in 1781, the Joy Homestead celebrates the French Soldiers of General Rochambeau.

Come to the Joy Homestead and meet the soldiers of the Bourbannais Regiment and the 2nd Rhode Island Regiment .     We are hoping that George Washington will stop by as well.

Joy Homestead is an official site on the Washington Rochambeau Route, which is a National Parks Trail and marks the way the French soldiers, some 5000 of them marched from Providence to Yorktown, Va in 1781.
