Cranston, Dec, 2011 – SALT (Stage Actors Live Theater) presents its second production: 3 ONE ACTS by David Lindsay-Abaire. The one acts will be presented along with eight new monologues by local writing talent, Kevin Broccoli. Performances will be held at The Artists’ Exchange, 50 Rolfe Square, in Cranston, RI for two weekends only: Friday through Sunday, January 20-22, and the following weekend, January 27-29. There is a Pay-What-You-Can preview dress rehearsal on Thursday, January 19, for guests with reservations. All performances begin at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 ($10 for students and seniors) and can be purchased by calling the Artists’ Exchange at 401-490-9475.

CRAZY EIGHTS. When Connie comes home late one night, she finds her parole officer waiting in her apartment with a long list of questions. The interrogation that follows is complicated by the arrival of Connie’s charming card-playing buddy.
BABY FOOD is a contemporary comedy about an off-kilter couple desperately searching for godparents for their newborn infant. Little do they know that the friends they’ve chosen are less than adventurous diners and on the verge of a divorce.
THAT OTHER PERSON. Tonight is the night Ginge and Kevin are going to tell their respective spouses the marriage-shattering secret they’ve been keeping from everyone. But their bombshell gets put on the back burner when a gorgeous peeping-tom, with secrets of her own, falls in the pool and nearly drowns. (Dramatists Play Service, Inc.)
SALT founder, Christin L. Goff, chose the Lindsay-Abaire play, primarily because, as she says, “I wanted to give new directors a chance to tackle shows.” Goff directs one of the short plays; Tom Chace of Warren and Dan Fisher of Cranston each direct one of the others. All three also are actors in the show, along with Ashley Arnold of Cranston, Ross Gavlin of Pawtucket, Christina Wolfskel of Newport, Amy Thompson of Barrington, and Becky Burns of Warwick.
Founded in 2010, SALT creates and fosters enriching theater arts experiences through education, studio work, and productions of live theater. SALT’s premier production, Sam Shepard’s FOOL FOR LOVE, was performed in July, 2011 at The Performance Space at 95 Empire, home to the former Perishable Theater. In addition to producing plays, SALT conducts acting classes and workshops for students at all levels of experience. Classes are held locally, at the Edgewood Community Church, on Broad Street in Cranston. A 2012 class listing will be announced soon.
