The RI Premiere of "Curtains"

The Community Players to Stage RI Premiere of CURTAINS

The Community Players continue their 90th anniversary season with the Rhode Island premiere of the hilarious musical comedy whodunit, CURTAINS.

Set in 1959 at Boston's Colonial Theatre, the story follows the fallout when the supremely untalented star of Robbin' Hood of the Old West is murdered during her opening night curtain call. It is up to a police detective who moonlight...s as a musical theater fan to save the show, solve the case, and maybe even find love before the show reopens, without getting killed himself. Nominated for eight 2007 Tony Awards
including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Original Score, CURTAINS is packed with rousing show-stopping tunes by the legendary Broadway song-writing team of John Kander and Fred Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Woman), with additional lyrics and book by Rupert
Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, “Escape”- the Pina Colada Song) and original book and concept by Peter Stone (1776, Titanic).

The production is directed by Sandy Cerel, with choreography by Timothy Reid and musical direction by Ron Procopio.

Cast members include Kim Alessandro, Kate Arthur, Eric Barbato,
Andrew Bobola, Rich Canedo, Joseph Casey, Tim Crepeau, Steve Dias, Dan Fisher, Greg Geer, Shannon Glazer, Bob Gruslin, Dana Haley, Kevin Killavey, Christine Lariviere, Tom Lavallee, Joe Luca, Chris Margadonna, Kara Marziali, Jennifer Mischley, Brian Mulvey, Erika Pastel, Leslie Vazquez, Gabbie Whitney and Joseph Wilkicki.

CURTAINS will be presented April 1-3, 8-10 and 15-17 at Jenks Auditorium, Division Street, Pawtucket, RI (across from McCoy Stadium). Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, with Sunday matinees at 2 pm. $18 for adults, and $15 for students through high school.
