Farmers Selling Out at Pastore Center Farmers Market
The farmers market at the John O. Pastore Center has been much busier this year than last and farmers have been selling out of their produce.
Near closing time at the Pastore Complex Farmers Market on Friday, every vendor had the same statement to make: "we're selling out of our produce."
The topic of healthy eating is everywhere and organic foods, which used to be found only at farms and specialty markets, can now be found at big supermarkets because of increasing demand.
That demand means brisk buisness for farmers who have stands at farmers markets — a huge help in this difficult economy. Many of the vendors at the market said on Friday that this year has been much busier than last year.
