Flowers Sold as Seasoning at Price Rite Could be Lethal if Eaten
The state Department of Health is warning consumers that packages of Arnica flowers sold at the Price Rite on Elmwood Avenue could be lethal if eaten due to mislabeling.
The state Department of Health is alerting consumers that packages of Arnica flowers sold at the Price Rite on Elmwood Avenue were labeled incorrectly and could be lethal if consumed.
In a release, the health department said the product was manufactured by NACfoods and distributed in Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York. It was sold in quarter-ounce bags and has an item code of 508.
So far, nobody has been reported ill because of the product, but ingestion could cause dizziness, tremors, vomiting and heart irregularities. Large doses could be fatal.

The product was labeled as a seasoning.
Arnica flower is a woodland plant in the same family as the sunflower. It's native to central Europe and the western United States. It's typically used for medicinal purposes such as the treatment of sprains, bruises, muscle pain and in foot baths.
