Fung Visits Cranston's Brutopia during Campaign Stop

Fung met with owner Bert Sorbo as he outlined his "Open for Business" plan.

When it comes to political campaigns, the pressure of pounding the pavement and glad-handing voters all day can generate quite a thirst.

So it makes sense that when it came time to highlight local small business success here in Cranston, Mayor Allan W. Fung, who is running for Governor, decided to stop by the city’s own Brutopia to outline his job creation plan.

Fung met with owner Bert Sorbo as he outlined his “Open for Business” plan, which he said will create jobs and more opportunities for people like Sorbo to make Rhode Island a great place to do business.

“It takes leadership and real experience to help small and medium sized businesses grow,” noted Fung. “My record in Cranston is evident in companies like Brutopia. Most importantly, the jobs created by Brutopia are local jobs. We are not creating jobs in other states.”

Fung has consistently referred to Cranston’s economic growth during the campaign, notably at Garden City Center and Chapel View — two major commercial developments that have flourished in recent years.
