Garden City Starbucks to Expand, Holidays in High Gear
Construction begins in February. And while we're at it, take a look at what's going on this holiday season at the city's popular destination shopping mecca.

The Starbucks in Garden City has always been a part of the upscale shopping center's success ever since it opened, but one thing it has always lacked is space.
The busy store is often cramped, especially during the holiday shopping season, and is frequently passed-over as a meeting place because there's simply not that much room. Scheduling a meeting there is a risky maneuver — there's a chance you might have to wait for a table out in the cold.
Things will change sometime next year. The store will be adding about 70 percent more square footage, said Janice Pascone, marketing director for Garden City Center. Construction will begin in February.

The extra space comes from Starbucks' former neighbor William Sonoma's move to a larger location elsewhere in the shopping center.
