Get Animated for School Vacation Week at the Cranston Library

Get out of the house, kids!

From the Cranston Public Library:

During school vacation week, the Cranston Public Library offers ย special programs for young people featuring everything from cupcakes and face painting to wild animals and video games.

At the Central Library, children will be "Inspired by Animation!" at ย two special events, funded by the Friends of the Library. ย On Tuesday, ย February 18, families can drop by any time betweenย 2:30 and 4:30 PMย to ย watch animated shorts by Pixar, the studio that produced Toy Story and ย Cars, and make animation-inspired crafts like thaumatropes and ย flipbooks. ย Onย Thursday, February 20, families can drop by any time ย betweenย 10 AM and 12 PMย to watch animated fairy tales by French ย director Michel Ocelot and make and play with shadow puppets.

There will be wild animals at the William Hall Library on Wednesday, ย February 19 at 2 PM, when the Born to Be Wild Nature Center will bring ย an owl, falcon and a hawk to the library and talk about their work. ย  Parents may register children 5 and older for this program by calling ย 401-781-2450. ย Then, drop by the Oak Lawn Branch on Friday, February ย 21, atย 2 PMย for face painting with Jennifer Rolfsema from Creative ย Chica. All ages are welcome to attend but please register by calling ย 401-942-1787.
