Wanted Cranston Man Tracked Down And Captured In Upstate New York: Cops

He was apprehended after the execution of a search warrant in Plattsburgh, New York, police said.

PLATTSBURGH, NY — A wanted Cranston man was tracked down and captured in Upstate New York, police said.

Isaac Rosario, 21, was arrested shortly after 6 a.m. Friday, according to a media release from the Clinton County, New York, Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office and the U.S. Marshals Service, with assistance from the Northern Regional Special Response Team and multiple partner agencies, executed a search warrant at a residence in Plattsburgh, New York, and took Rosario into custody, the release said.

Rosario was wanted on charges of carrying a pistol or revolver without a license, felony assault and/or battery, assault on a correctional officer, fraudulent use of a credit card, and reckless driving and eluding, according to the release.

"Rosario was tracked to the Plattsburgh area following an investigation by the District of Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Service Plattsburgh Division, and the Plattsburgh City Police Departmen," the release said.

"Rosario was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and committed to the Clinton County Correctional Facility pending further extradition proceedings in Clinton County Court," according to the release.
