Grab & Go Kids Planner: July 8

As we all know, family life can get pretty busy. This weekly feature will lay out a variety of family activities, all ranging in price, age range, and interest.

Welcome to the Grab & Go Kids Planner, where we bring you yet another five great activities for your family to enjoy over the next week.

Where/When: , Friday, July 8 from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. 
Why Go: Loren Spears, director of the Tomaquag Indian Memorial Museum, will lead this program that includes storyteling, history, and music and dance, and of which stem from the Narragansett Tribe. Included in this family-friendly event, will be the viewing of a short film, "How Bird's Got Their Song", which was featured at the Providence Film Festival. The film tells a story from the perspective of Native children, and after viewing, kids will have a chance to discuss and reflect.

Where/When: , Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
Why Go: This week at Lowe's Build And Grow Clinic, kids will get to make (and take home) a tow truck. The truck comes with a working tow hook and all! Each child will also receive a free apron, goggles, and a certificate of completion.

Where/When: , Daily from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Why Go: Summer has been hot already, and its only just begun. Get those kids to cool down by taking a trip to the Budlong Pool.
Pricing: Day pass $3, Family Season Pass $50, Individual Season Pass $25, Senior Pass $20. Non-residents of the city can purchase a day pass for $10.

Where/When: Scottish Rite Auditorium (2115 Broad Street), July 12 at 11:00 a.m.
Why Go: Kaleidoscope Theatre kicks off their summer series by performing their well known version of Beauty and the Beast. Kaleidoscope Children's Theatre has been providing fun, family friendly entertainment to kids (and adults) of all ages for 32 years.

Where/When: On Tuesday, July 12 at the Free Library, 1825 Broad St. from 5 to 6 p.m.
Why Go: Teens and tweens will compete against each other to determine the best salsa, guacamole and dessert makers. Not only will it be entertaining, it will be tasty. Prizes and a raffle are part of the fun.
