Help Wanted: Cranston School District Begins Superintendent Search
The School Committee has put up the help wanted sign.
and taking a new job as the superintendent of schools in North Stonington, Conn., the School Committee has started its search for his replacement.
School Committee Chairwoman Andrea Iannazzi said in a release that the newly-formed Search Committee, which she will chair, has "mirrored their process on the recent Barrington superintendent search."
All Search Committee meetings will be held in executive session leading up to the selection of three to five top candidates. The finalists will then be interviewed by the full School Committee at meetings open to the public the week of July 9.

"Those meetings will be open to the public and will provide an opportunity for public questioning and feedback," Iannazzi said.
Also serving on the Search Committee are School Committee members Janice Ruggieri and Michael Traficante.

"Mr. Traficante brings an educational background, as a former teacher, coach, and administrator. Mrs. Ruggieri brings the perspective of a parent and experienced PTO member. Ms. Iannazzi brings a legal and policy perspective to the committee," the release stated.
The committee expects to review and screen applications on June 15. Interviews will be held June 21 to 22. Sometime during the week of June 25, the Search Committee will meet to recommend three to five candidates for consideration.
The Search Committee will maintain a website and keep the public updated with dates and times. (So will Cranston Patch).
