I-295 On-Ramp Closing For Overnight Construction

CRANSTON, RI— The on-ramp to Interstate 295 North on Route 37 West will close for overnight road work on Monday night. Starting at 9 p.m., crews will close the ramp to clean out a drainage culvert. The ramp is scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said the closure is needed because the area can only be accessed from the ramp and the road is not wide enough to allow traffic to continue while ensuring a safe work space.

During the closure, drivers looking to access the highway will be detoured the Natick Avnue, where they can turn around and access I-295 North from Route 37 East.
