Lanzi Joins Rhode Island Treasurer's Team
Bea Lanzi had represented Cranston in the Rhode Island Senate and House of Representatives since 1993.

Bea Lanzi, who represented Cranston in the Rhode Island Senate from 2003 to 2012, has joined the staff at Treasurer Seth Magaziner’s office.
Lanzi will serve as Director of Legislation and Outreach. During her time in the senate, Lanzi served as Deputy Majority Leader and Deputy President Pro Tempore. Prior to her election to the Senate, Lanzi served in the Rhode Island House of Representatives from 1993-2002. Currently, Lanzi is a Vice President at the United Way of Rhode Island where she has worked since 1998. At the United Way, she manages community investments and grants for financial literary work. Lanzi is an Adjunct Professor at Bristol Community College. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communication and Political Science from Rhode Island College as well as a Masters of Arts in Political Communication Studies from Emerson College.

“Bea’s twenty years of experience as a State Representative and then a State Senator coupled with the work she’s done on financial literacy and related issues at the United Way make her an invaluable addition to Treasury,” Magaziner said in a statement. “I am committed to an agenda that puts Rhode Islanders back to work and on a path to greater financial stability and Bea will be instrumental in those efforts.”

Amy Crane will serve as Deputy Legal Counsel for Retirement. Crane has served as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Providence for the past three years, earning the distinction of Senior Assistant City Solicitor in May, 2014. In that capacity, she has represented the city in a variety of legal matters, advised city boards including the zoning board, building board, and school board, and liaised with the city, federal agencies, and outside counsel. Crane is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts as well as the United States District Court of Rhode Island and the United States Supreme Court. She is a graduate of the Roger Williams University School of Law and Sacred Heart University.
Carol Aguasvivas will serve as the Deputy Director of the Crime Victims Compensation Program. Aguasvivas comes to Treasury from Aramark where she manages the City of Providence’s purchasing and accounts payable. Aguasvivas served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard for seven years as a logistics specialist. She currently serves in the Rhode Island Air National Guard as the Knowledge Operations Manager at Quonset. She is also the founder of Community Angels, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving families and individuals in Rhode Island. Aguasvivas holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Public Administration from Rhode Island College.
