Massive Allens Ave. Pothole Blamed For Flat Tires
Witnesses reported seeing between eight and 10 disabled vehicles near the Interstate 95 on-ramp during Monday morning's commute.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A massive pothole on Allens Avenue in Providence is being blamed for several flat tires during Monday morning's commute. According to Rhode Island Department of Transportation, crews were dispatched to the area to patch the road.
According to NBC 10 WJAR, a viewer reported seeing eight disabled cars near the "black hole of a pothole" just north of the Thurbers Avenue on-ramp around 8:45 a.m.
Twitter user Walter Belonos reported seeing 10 damaged vehicles in the area around 9:15 a.m.

RIDOT spokesperson Charles St. Martin could not confirm exactly how many vehicles were damaged by the pothole, but said that the department sent a crew to patch the road as soon as they received a complaint around 8 a.m.
