Mayor Alan Fung welcomed Cranston's newest small business, officially cutting the ribbon for <a href="https://patch.com/L-ryqx" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Cafe on Midway</a> last week. The cafe, tucked into a small corner of Garden City next to the post office on Midway Road, offers a full selection of fresh-baked breakfast pastries — including Allie's Donuts — bagels, scones, coffee, tea and juices. For lunch, the cafe offers fresh sandwiches, salads and soups, including daily specials. Desserts include homemade cookies, cinnamon rolls or chocolate-covered apples. The cafe also sells lottery tickets and convenience beverages. Cafe on Midway is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
