New CVS Coronavirus Vaccine Sites Open In Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, RI — Two dozen CVS pharmacy locations in Rhode Island now offer coronavirus vaccinations. On Friday, the company announced several new locations in the state.

The 14 new locations added Friday are in Bristol, Charlestown, Cumberland, East Providence, Narragansett, Pascoag, Portsmouth, Riverside, Rumford, Smithfield, Tiverton, Warwick, West Warwick and Wyoming, WPRI reported.

As of Friday afternoon, all CVS vaccine appointments in Rhode Island were fully booked, though the company said more appointments are added as they become available. Anyone looking for an appointment is encouraged to check back later.

There are 24 CVS sites in Rhode Island currently taking part in the vaccine program. They are:

• East Providence
• Glocester
• Johnston
• Narragansett
• Newport
• Pascoag
• Pawtucket
• Portsmouth
• Providence
• Riverside
• Rumford
• Smithfield

• Warwick
• West Warwick
• Westerly
• Woonsocket
• Wyoming

CVS is currently the only place in Rhode Island offering vaccines to teachers. That's expected to change soon, however, after Gov. Dan McKee said Thursday he plans to get at least one dose to every educator in the state by the end of the month.
