You might be missing the former Ruggieri's Market on Atwood Avenue, but the wait for a local, family-owned grocer is just about over.
Shore's Food Market is opening Friday.
After much renovation, the new market will have a soft opening this week, the owners said. A grand opening is planned in a week or two.

Shore's has been in business in Rhode Island for more than 50 years.
Customers of the former Ruggieri's, which was sold the the Shore's family, will be pleased to see the same kind of family-owned service and quality the former market was known for.
There will be a few changes, though. Along with a new interior and layout, there will be a re-vamped prepared food section and a larger in-store bakery.
The owners of the former Ruggieri's said it was a hard decision to sell the business, but the timing was right, the opportunity was there and it was reassuring to sell the business to another local family.
