North Providence Man Charged in Father's Stabbing Death
Clark Murray Jr. is facing domestic homicide charges after his father was found dead in their North Providence home.
NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A North Providence man has been charged with domestic homicide after his father was found dead from an apparent stabbing on Tuesday evening.
When officers arrived at the Gale Court house around 5 p.m., they found Clark Murray Sr., 70, on the floor with stab wounds. He was later pronounced dead. His son, Clark Murray Jr., 40, had stab wounds to his neck and throat, and was removing a knife from one of the cuts. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The unidentified woman who called 911 told police that she found Murray Sr. unresponsive inside the house, and that his son was there at the time. She then ran away and called 911.

The door was locked when officers arrived, leading them to force their way inside. At this time, police do not believe there are any other suspects in the case. Murray Jr. has been charged with domestic homicide and is under police guard while at the hospital.
An investigation is underway and police have not yet said what caused Murray Jr. to stab his father.
