Obituary: Alphonsus "Al" Maloney, 63

Alphonsus “Al” Maloney, 63, passed away Friday May 29, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Ryley) Maloney. Born in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Leonard J. and Edith M. (McAvoy) Maloney.

Mr. Maloney worked at Schneider Electric, R & D Systems Test Director, Foxboro Resource Center for 37 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing at Cape Cod, Classic Cars, his dog Molly and spending time with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Brian P. Maloney and his wife Jennifer A. Maloney of Woonsocket, one daughter, Bethany L. Fox and her husband Sean P. Fox of Cranston. Grandfather of Jason and Emma. Brother of Leonard Maloney of Cranston, John Maloney of Warwick, Margaret Harris of Warwick, Joan Strayer of Cranston and was the brother of the late John Francis Maloney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral is Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling Hours Monday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to RI Cancer Society or Home & Hospice Care of RI.
