Obituary: Det. Sgt. Louis Corvese Jr.

Det. Sgt. Louis Corvese Jr. Ret., 86, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Home & Hospice Care of RI Philip Hulitar In-Patient Center in Providence.

Det. Sgt. Louis Corvese Jr., 86, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Home & Hospice Care of RI  Philip Hulitar In-Patient Center in Providence.

He was the beloved husband of Ann (Santomauro) Corvese. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Luigi and Marion (DelSesto) Corvese. Louis was a Cranston Police Officer for 30 years, retiring as Sgt. He received a Heroic Medal of Bravery in 1970 for his capture of an escaped career criminal. He was a member of the Cranston FOP and the Cranston Country Club.

Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Deborah Buono and her husband Jeff of Cranston, Louis Corvese III of Cranston, Kenneth Corvese of West Warwick and Brian Corvese of Cranston; his loving grandchildren, Stephanie, Stephen, Keri, Brian, Alissa, Louis and Michael; and two great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Evelyn Ficcorilli of Cranston, Marge Corvese Murga of Cranston and the late Vincent Corvese.
