Josephine C. Calestino, 94, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late John P. Calestino, Sr. Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Emelio and Amelia (Cerra) DeFazio, Sr.

Josephine loved cooking, farming, and holiday meals. She also loved her grandchildren very much.

She was the loving mother of Robert Calestino and his wife Susan of Cranston and the late John P. Calestino, Jr. and survived by his wife Sharon Calestino of Cranston; cherished grandmother of John P. Calestino III, Matthew T. Calestino M.D., Frank P. Calestino, Robert A. Calestino, Jr., Lauren M. Giannini, Gian W. Calestino, Victoria Calestino, and great grandmother of the late Michael J. Calestino; dear siblings Alma Ash of Johnston and Emelio DeFazio, Jr. of Cranston. She was the sister of the late Maggie Riccitelli, Julia Scungio, Margaret Riccitelli, and Esther DonFrancisco. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
