Obituary: Marie G. (Coppinger) Tomlins, 85

Marie G. (Coppinger) Tomlins, 85, passed away October 28, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Richard R. Tomlins for 57 years; mother of Richard Robert Tomlins, II, Stacey Mary DiLorenzo and Marisa Ann Tomlins; mother-in-law of Joan Tomlins; grandmama of Emma Tomlins; sister of Joseph Coppinger (Maj. U.S.A.F. Ret) and his wife Gloria, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Leah Marie Tomlins. 

Mrs. Tomlins was a 1946 graduate of Immaculate Conception School in Revere, MA where she was an organist, a member of the choir, and a cheerleader. She was a long term employee of AT&T and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was also a member of the Regina Coeli at St. Mary Church, Cranston, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the U.S.O., and a founding member of the Friends of SRS. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, 3-7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, with burial to follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of SRS, c/o 400 Farmington Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920.
