Obituary: Robert W. Evans, Sr., 85

Robert W. Evans Sr., 85, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home Saturday August 16, 2014. He was born in Jamaica, NY a son of the late Frederick and Rose (Johnson) Evans. He was the beloved and devoted husband of the late Anna (Moretta) Evans for 61 years.

Mr. Evans was an application chemist for Metro Chemical and later was a chemical salesman for Eastern Color and Auralux Corporation. He enjoyed playing golf and visiting his friends at the mall.

He is survived by four children; Robert W. Evans, Jr. and his wife Ann, Dr. Lynn Anne Evans and her husband Nicholas O’Donohoe, Marie DelGallo and her husband Robert and Patricia Lussier and her husband Brian. He was the father of the late Michael Evans. He was the loving grandfather of Eric, Kimberly, Katie, Michaela, Jessica, Robert and Christopher. Also, he was the brother of the late Florence Darby and Arthur Evans and is survived by one sister, Judy Harris.

Calling hours are Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to assemble Thursday at 10 a.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home for his funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
