The baby was taken to the hospital with serious injuries including a fractured skull and broken femurs.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket father is facing charges of child abuse after his two-month-old baby was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. Carlos Melendez Campos, 23, was arrested and later admitted to hurting the infant, according to police.
On Wednesday, the infant was admitted to Hasbro Children's Hospital with "multiple injuries," police said, including broken femurs and skull fractures. Police were called to investigate, along with the Department of Children, Youth and Families.
Investigators spoke with the child's mother, and Campos was identified as a suspect. Following his arrest and confession, he was set to be arraigned Wednesday on three counts of first-degree child abuse.
