Man Charged With Cranston Drive-By Shooting Caught Driving Roll-Off Container Truck: Cops

CRANSTON, RI — State troopers on the lookout for a truck emblazoned with "1-800-GOT-JUNK" in connection with a Cranston drive-by shooting got their man, police said.

Troopers with the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force searching for a man charged with the gun attack "developed information" he was "was currently operating a rolloff container truck displaying '1-800-GOT-JUNK' in the city of Providence," according to a police report.

The task force spotted the truck and the man charged with the shooting, 25-year-old Amsua Bleh, two days after the July 7 gun attack, the report said.

Troopers pulled the truck over on Interstate 195 in East Providence and arrested Bleh on charges of felony assault, drive-by shooting, discharge of a firearm when committing a crime of violence, felony assault by use of a device similar in appearance to a firearm, conspiracy and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Bleh was charged with opening fire from a vehicle near the corner of Park Avenue and Potter Street and hitting two automobiles, according to a media release from the Cranston Police Department.

No one was injured in the shooting, police said.
