Report: Brewed Rounded Up Customer Bills
Brewed Awakenings Owner Dave Levesque said the rounding up of customer receipts to the nearest nickel was an error and has been fixed.
After a report by NBC10, customers at Brewed Awakenings locations will be paying a few cents less for a cup of coffee.
The popular coffee shop was reportedly rounding up bills by a few cents to the nearest nickel on every tab, so an order that lands at $3.58 would be rounded up to $3.60.
A customer who was not identified notified the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Unit about the up-charging and told NBC10 that she would still be a customer at Brewed despite the problem.

Owner Dave Levesque said the rounding of bills was an "honest mistake" and that the rounding policy was supposed to eliminate the use of pennies but it was supposed to round both down and up.
He said a computer glitch might have caused the bills to only be rounded up and that likely happened after a computer upgrade in January of 2012.
