CRANSTON, RI — Rhode Islanders with driver's licenses that are set to expire in June have 90-day extension, Gov. Gina Raimondo announced Wednesday. While some in-person services are available at the Division of Motor Vehicle offices in Cranston and Middletown, deadlines have been extended and services are available to reduce the need for in-person services during the coronavirus pandemic.

Anyone with a permit, license, ID card or vehicle registration that is set to expire in June will have until Sept. 30 to renew. In addition, all documents with a March expiration date have been further extended to Sept. 30, as well. April and May expiration dates have not been extended further at this time. The current schedule is listed below.

  • March: Sept. 30
  • April: July 31
  • May: Aug. 31
  • June: Sept. 30

Licenses will expire on the day of the month corresponding to the extension; for example, a license set to expire on April 15 will now expire July 15.
