PROVIDENCE, RI — Two of Rhode Island's top politicians have diverged from Governor Gina Raimondo in their endorsements for president. Both House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello and Senate President Dominick Ruggerio voiced their support for Senator Amy Klobuchar.

According to The People's Radio, Mattiello initially supported Vice President Joe Biden, but changed his mind following his lackluster results at the New Hampshire primary. At the same event, Ruggerio, who previously said he was choosing between Biden and Klobuchar, said he is also endorsing the Minnesotan senator.

Earlier this month, Governor Raimondo endorsed Mike Bloomberg's candidacy, saying he "is a problem-solver with a long track record of delivering results."
