Rhode Island State Police Looking For I-95 Shooting Suspect
State police said someone shot several rounds into a black Mercedes while driving on the highway. Two of the rounds struck the driver.
PAWTUCKET, RI — Rhode Island State Police are looking for the person responsible for a shooting on Interstate 95 in Pawtucket that happened Thursday afternoon.
Around 3:25 p.m., state police and Pawtucket police were called to I-95 northbound near the Cottage Street exit for a report of a shooting.
According to state police, someone shot several rounds into a black Mercedes while driving on the highway. Two of the rounds struck the driver in his shoulder and back.

State police said the man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence and is expected to survive his injuries. Investigators went to the hospital to speak with the victim, but state police said he refused to cooperate.
