Cranston Man Charged With Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses: Cops

CRANSTON, RI— A Cranston man was charged with obtaining money under false pretenses, police said.

Christopher Paquin, 46, was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Monday by the Rhode Island State Police Auto Theft Task Force, the state police said in a media release.

"The arrest was the result of an investigation by members of the Auto Theft Task Force and Mr. Paquin surrendering himself at the Lincoln Woods Barracks," the release said.

"Mr. Paquin was processed then turned over to Third Division District Court where he was granted $1,000 surety bail ... and later presented as a Superior Court probation violator," according to the release.
