CRANSTON, RI — Several days into the Stop & Shop workers strike, most stores in the area have reopened with skeleton crews of replacement workers, while others remain shuttered, only letting customers in to access Citizen's Bank branches or in-store pharmacies. If you're a Stop & Shop regular looking for alternatives in the area, here are some other grocery store options available nearby.
- Aldi: There are two Aldi locations in Cranston: 1015 Cranston St. and 1138 Pontiac Ave. Bring a quarter, you'll need it for a cart.
- Whole Foods Market: The high-end grocery chain said it has lowered prices since being acquired by Amazon, especially on produce. Located at 151 Sockanosset Cross Rd.
- Shaw's: There are two Shaw's locations nearby: 8 Chapel View Blvd and 320 Warwick Ave.
