Tea for Authors: Elephant Room Hosts "Lively Literati" on Thursday

CRANSTON, RI — Children's author Susan Letendre will read from her works on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at The Elephant Room, Pawtuxet Village.

Signed copies of her books will be on sale at the event.

According to Rick Marchetti, one of the night's co-hosts, the Association of Rhode Island Authors and the tea room teamed up to "promote the work of local poets and writers."

They sponsor the readings the last Thursday of the month.

This Thursday, Lenore Rheaume is the other host.

After the reading, everybody can get into the act.

"Audience members will have an opportunity to share their own works of poetry, prose or other creative writing at an open mic," he said. It's free admission.
