Veteran NBC 10 'Sunrise' Anchor Frank Coletta To Retire
After more than four decades with the station, Colette announced his retirement during the station's special 70th birthday broadcast.

CRANSTON, RI — After more than four decades at NBC 10 WJAR, anchor Frank Coletta will retire later this month. The "Sunrise" anchor has been with the show since it launched in 1985.
"I’ve worked with so many talented and creative broadcasters in my time at NBC 10," Coletta said. "But I could not have lasted 41 years here without the constant loyalty, encouragement, and support of all of you in the TV audience, and more recently, on social media."
Colletta announced his retirement during the station's special 70th anniversary broadcast on Wednesday night. His last day will be July 26.

"I'll always be grateful to each of you for letting me so graciously into your homes," Coletta said. "I’m looking forward to starting a new routine – one that involves sleeping well past that 2:30 a.m. wake-up call!"
The veteran anchor has been with WJAR for decades. Following his graduation from Emerson College, he worked in radio before coming to the station in 1978 as an assignment editor before becoming a reporter. In 1985, he became the anchor of the newly launched Sunrise show, where he has remained ever since.

"Frank is irreplaceable," said WJAR News Director Scott Isaacs. "His decades of institutional knowledge made him a tremendous resource for journalists young and old. The best way we can honor his career is by continuing to tell the stories that matter most to Southern New Englanders."
Coletta's replacement has yet to be announced.
The new Sunrise team will be announced soon.
