Warwick Dance Studio and Students receive numerous awards at New England wide Competition.
Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Warwick participates in 32nd Tri-Star Championships and brings home awards
The Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Warwick and it’s students attended a weekend of glamour, rhinestones, glitz and of course ballroom dancing at it’s best. The 32nd Tri-Star Championships were held last weekend at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut.
This New England wide competition brought over 20 Fred Astaire Studios and their students to challenge each other on the ballroom floor.
Over three days there was amateur, pro-am and of course professional dancing in the ballroom. All ages and levels were represented, from novice dancer to seasoned professional, junior competition to senior it was all there.
The Fred Astaire Studio of Warwick had several students win their overall divisions.

Deb George and Joe DiMaio of Warwick won the Amateur Couple Bronze Closed Smooth Championship in the B-Age division as well as the Amateur Couple Bronze Closed Rhythm Championship in the B-Age Division.
Cheryl Johnson of Smithfield won the Pro-Am Open Smooth championship in the C-Age division as well as the Pro-Am Silver Closed Rhythm Championship in the C-Age Category
Patricia Reyes of Saugus, Ma placed second in the Pro-Am Open Rhythm Championship in the A-Age division.
Helene Faessel of Cambridge, Ma placed second in the Pro-Am Closed Silver Smooth Championship in the A-Age division and third in the B-Age Division.
Larry Johnson, of Smithfield placed third in the Pro-Am Open Smooth Championship in the C-Age division.
The Studio Formation “Money Maker” received a score of 94.7 for a first place.

Top Student awards were also received by Warwick Students.
Deb George and Joe DiMaio of Warwick received a second place overall Amateur Couple awards and David and Suzanne Cane of Providence received a third place overall Amateur Couple Award
Dennis McLeavey of West Kingston received a fifth place Amateur Male Competitor award.
Rogelio Garcia, owner and instructor of the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Warwick was recognized as the Top Male Teacher at the Tri-Star Championships and Jelena Kolarovic, instructor at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Warwick was recognized as the third place Female Teacher at the Tri-Star Championships.
All these outstanding results and more came together in a third place Top Studio award for the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Warwick.
