Warwick Woman Charged With DUI Following Wrong-Way Crash
Sonia Barrera, 23, drove the wrong-way up the highway and crashed into another vehicle, according to Rhode Island State Police.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A Warwick woman is facing drunken driving charges after she drove the wrong way up Interstate 95 North and crashed into another vehicle, Rhode Island State Police said. Sonia Barrera, 23, of Symonds Avenue was charged with driving to endanger resulting in injury, driving under the influence and reckless driving.
The crash happened around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday near the Lonsdale Avenue exit in Pawtucket. Barrera, who was driving southbound on the northbound side of the highway, crashed into another vehicle. The driver, a 53-year-old man from South Attleboro, Massachusetts, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Barrerra was held overnight and arraigned Wednesday morning.
