• NEW: Flood Watch Issued for Rhode Island By National Weather Service (golocalprov.com) — East Greenwich is under a National Weather Service flood watch from late Saturday night through Sunday afternoon, with 0.5 to 2 inches of rain and possible heavier bands. Residents should be prepared for potential flash flooding in low-lying or poor-drainage areas as showers and thunderstorms move through Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
   

• Man arrested on assault charge in East Greenwich (newportdispatch.com) — State police arrested a 19-year-old North Kingstown man in East Greenwich after stopping a vehicle on Frenchtown Road tied to a reported firearm-brandishing incident, charging him with felony assault and disorderly conduct. In a separate stop on Route 138 in North Kingstown, troopers charged another man with first-offense DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
   

• New horror movie filmed in RI has some great buzz. Here's the story (providencejournal.com) — An East Greenwich-based company, Verdi Productions, has just wrapped filming "Stung," a killer-bee horror movie shot in East Greenwich and North Kingstown with a nearly 100-person cast and crew. Local producers from East Greenwich and Warwick joined a Hollywood cast that includes Iris Apatow and Justin Long, bringing significant film activity and visibility to the community.
