East Greenwich Girl Scouts will be kicking off their annual cookie sales during the first week of January. This year's theme is "Count Me In," a program to promote financial literacy with girls.
There are 8 cookie choices including the ever popular Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, and Peanut Butter Patties along with a new offering, Shout Outs, a crisp Belgian-like caramelized cookie.
Instead of purchasing cookies, you can donate boxes to the charitable cause, "Kids in Crisis". These boxes will be sent to troubled RI children living at St. Mary's Home for Children in North Providence and Elizabeth Buffum Chase Center in Warwick. Proceeds from the cookie sales help troops and girls attend summer camp, fund educational field trips, and pay for supplies needed to complete badges.
